Ben Reid, Manager, Agfarm Advantage

Ben joined Agfarm in 2005 in the Dubbo office firstly as an account manager and was then promoted to regional manager. Ben then decided to move back to his home town to establish an office in Young and was further promoted to manager of our managed grain marketing program, Agfarm Advantage.

Ben grew up on a family farm on 1400ha farming sheep, cattle, grain and fodder in the Young area. Following University, he spent twelve months working in the family business, including co-managing all enterprises. Ben's farming background has given him an excellent understanding the needs of Australian grain growers. Ben then spent 14 months working as a station hand on a property between Coonamble and Walgett, where he was involved in all aspects of cropping, sheep husbandry and back grounding of steers. He also worked for three years as a grain trader for a grain trading and storage country merchant in southern NSW, primarily in the trading of both delivered and track feed grains in eastern Australia. Ben also managed the storage and road logistics for the same company.

Ben has a Bachelor of Business (Agricultural Commerce) from the University of Sydney.

Poppy Nation, Sales Representative, Agfarm Advantage

Poppy originally joined the Agfarm team in an administrative role in Sydney from March 2010, and was offered a full time position based in Young from November 2010. Poppy has grown up on a 1200 ha mixed farming property 10kms east of Young.

During her time of study in Sydney undertaking a Bachelor of Arts, Poppy worked in a number of customer services roles with an agricultue and customer service focus, integral to the values of Agfarm.

Directly after leaving school Poppy took on a casual grain marketing role, working over harvest and during university holidays. It was here that Poppy realised her passion for grain marketing and thus sought out relevant experience upon her return to Sydney.

Agfarm's independence and the company culture is what drew Poppy to Agfarm where she continues to grow in knowledge and confidence as she moves into a sales representative role.

Poppy enjoyed the opportunity to move home, from Sydney to Young and looks forward to broadening her knowledge within the Industry.

Mick Hudson, Sales Representative, Agfarm Advantage

Mick joined Agfarm in 2012 to assist us with the growth resulting from the Agfarm Advantage sales programs.

Mick grew up in West Wyalong, NSW and his first foray into agribusiness was in the banking sector then moving to various centres throughout the southern area of NSW for 12 years, eventually settling in Young.

Mick then purchased and managed a retail business in Young for 8 years. Since then he has worked in various retail agribusinesses as a merchandise manager covering animal health, crop protection and fertiliser inputs. This working background ensures Mick has a strong understanding of the needs of growers.

Lisa Cummings, Client Services Administrator, Agfarm Advantage

Lisa grew up in Griffith, NSW and worked in a series of client services roles before leaving to travel, eventually decided to establish her own cafe in Young.

She now works in Advantage administration and looks after her hobby farm. Lisa is enthusiastic about utilising her customer service skills in servicing Agfarm Advantage clients and learning more about the grain industry.

Bronwyn Burns, Sales Support Administrator, Agfarm Advantage

Bronwyn grew up in a range of locations across New South Wales, having a father who was a Farm Manager for an international pastoral company.

Bronwyn herself has worked as a farm manager as well as time spent as a specialist ranger and agronomist.

She has graduated from both Charles Sturt and Sydney Universities with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Agriculture) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Public Health Management.

Working with Agfarm's local team in Young appealed to Bronwyn, as did the integrity of the company and the opportunities available.
