Another good week for Western Australia farmers this week with rain over the weekend adding to an already good moisture profile in most areas. The eight day forecast is showing more rain for this weekend, which will boost moisture levels even further. Yield potential for Geraldton and Kwinana zones remains above average, while the Albany zone is a tale of two stories. The west is looking above average and east is likely to have a below average season. Esperance is still yet to have a big rainfall event, but still hopeful of an average season.
New crop wheat and barley markets saw the biggest moves in price this week with BS1 finishing $11/MT higher at $331/MT and APW1 finishing $14/MT higher at $312/MT. Old crop values also saw gains, with H2 increasing $6/MT and APW $3/MT.
